Nostalgia | Melancholic Ambient Meditation | AYU & Sam

30 Sept 2026 Having a place to be creative is such an important thing for me to have. I already wrote about my attic quite some times, it´s a place very close to my heart. But my brother and me we will move out of Leipzig at the end of the year to go travelling in Australia. With that big changes coming up, I want to inhale all the time left here as deeply as possible. So my Brother Sam and me made a little space beside my paintings to go make this ambient meditation together. Him on the Synthesizer and Piano, and me on the Viola, Guitar and Percussions. Painting and music are quite similar, yet totally different. It is all about composing, surprising oneself, finding a kind of own language in different mediums. Also both of them are about creating tones and hues, landscapes and colours, just in different wavelengths of vibrations. The power of music in comparison to painting seems to lay in the passage of time and the strong emotionality of sound. I could write about this for hours, but it will be for another session.
