Strange Surreal Puppets - Livin On The B Side - Kelly Boesch - 4K

"Livin' On The B-Side" is a song about getting older without buying into the idea that life somehow gets smaller with age. Somewhere along the way, I stopped chasing the things that never really mattered and started appreciating the quiet moments, the good stories, and the people who stayed. We spend so much time being told we're fading, but I think there's a different kind of freedom waiting on the other side of all that noise. This song is my reminder that growing older isn't the end of anything, it's just a different record playing, and sometimes the B-side turns out to be the better one. I reworked the visuals for my old video It's La Vida Loca. I always loved these puppets and wanted to try them again. This felt like a cool song for it. Livin’ On The B-Side [Verse 1] I keep looking in the mirror Wondering why I’m still here Feel surrounded by the gloom Trying to read the room Where the voices all collide And the years are passing by They tell me that I’m fading My doctor says I’m aging [Pre-Chorus] But I’m not scared of growing old And I’m not scared of letting go [Chorus] Living on the b-side Living on the b-side Living on the b-side [Verse 2] These are the quiet days of my life No grand parade, no flashing lights The joke is always the same You lose what you chase, you keep what remains The years leave fingerprints on the door But I don't count what I had before I keep the stories that still make me laugh And leave the heavy ones in the past [Pre-Chorus] I put on my favorite hat And leave my drama in the past [Chorus] Living on the b-side Living on the b-side Living on the b-side Lyrics written by me, Kelly Boesch.
