Dog owners rally in Madrid against animal abandonment

Hundreds of dog owners, together with their pets, took part in the tenth edition of the 'Sanperrestre' in Madrid. The event simulates a marathon for domestic animals, and is an awareness-raising walk through the streets of the Spanish capital. This year’s version of the well-known San Silvestre race aims to protest against the abandonment of pets and to draw attention to the advantage of adopting rather than buying dogs or cats.
