China strengthens military over Taiwan tensions

Chinese President Xi Jinping has signed an order to strengthen the country’s military preparedness and to ‘safeguard national sovereignty and regional stability,’ as tensions over Taiwan rise. China alleged Washington is creating an atmosphere of ‘conflict and confrontation’ in the region.
