The opening, Mid Wave B, and Final Wave sections all quote melodic motifs associated with the zombie faction, while the track as a whole recreates the plant faction’s signature percussion style from the original game. Those familiar with K-Pop Trap should have no trouble recognizing the Trap drum elements throughout the track. At the same time, I made plenty of targeted adaptations to ensure that they still fit the atmosphere of the original Plants vs. Zombies series. In terms of arrangement, the Moon Base storyline in Garden Warfare 2 has the plants actively launching an offensive against the zombies. Because this track is written from the plants’ perspective in PvZ2, I used a gradually intensifying structure. It begins by establishing a lunar atmosphere filled with radiation and energy. By Mid Wave B, the plants gradually gain the upper hand, and the percussion style associated with the plants capturing objectives in Garden Warfare 2 slowly takes the lead. The intro to the Final Wave even directly reuses the opening of the final-wave pinball sequence, taking the references to the absolute limit. As for the instrumentation, most of the sounds used in the Moon Base stages of Garden Warfare 2 are not unique to that world, so I only retained the most recognizable one: the theremin—that "ooo-ooo-ooo" sound. To better capture the distinctive atmosphere of space and the Moon, I also created several sets of custom sounds specifically for this track. The Moon Base theme revolves around three main ideas: energy, science fiction, and outer space. To represent them, I used dark and weighty low-frequency sounds, low-brass stabs, 808 bass, and laser sound effects, combined with broad, spacious atmospheric pads.
