Čiurlionis’s preludes—historically rooted in the genre of improvisation—seamlessly intertwined with the philosophy of jazz. The musicians moved beyond conventional jazz frameworks, preserving the essence of his music while expanding it into broad improvisational forms. 🗣 “We’ve been performing Čiurlionis’s music for quite a while. At first, we wanted to modernize and update his work, but over time we realized it’s not us changing Čiurlionis—it’s Čiurlionis who changes us,” – Dmitrij Golovanov.
