Oromtriali ორომთრიალი КРУГОВОРОТ (Full Circle) - 1986 - Lana Ghoghoberidze (ENG subs, RUS audio)

one of the rarest movie by georgian regisseur Lana Ghoghoberidze. I couldn't find the newly restored version in georgian, so this one is the russian dubbed that appeared on russian TV decades ago. I made the English subtitles by paying an AI Transcription service and seems quite satisfactory (despite several mistakes). Hope you enjoy. PLOT: Tbilisi, early 1980s. From the outside, everything seems calm, but behind this tranquillity there is turmoil. Manana, who used to be a movie star, is no longer remembered by any director. Her childhood friend Rusudan suffers from loneliness despite a successful scientific career. Manana's aunt, Matiko, mourns her late husband. Her daughter, 19-year-old Salome, and her friends are also facing life's difficulties. Through strange coincidences, the lives of the film's characters become intertwined. FULL CIRCLE/Oromtriali revolves around a psychological experiment: human beings are unable to differentiate between facial expressions for contradistinctive emotions like love and hate when the accompanying verbal expressions are inaudible. Expression is at least the speciality of aging actress Manana, who doesn't get offered roles any more. The former star's path crosses with those of a host of other individuals with their own social and moral dilemmas to solve. Some of them work themselves out in the Perestroika era tumult, but a lot of them don't. Screenplay: Zaira Arsenishvili, Lana Gogoberidze Cinematographer: Nugzar Erkomaishvili Editor: Sophio Machaidze Music: Gia Kancheli Sound: Dimitri Surenski Cast: Leila Abashidze, Lia Eliava, Givi Pirtskhalava, Otar Megvinetukhutsesi, Megi Tsulukidze
