Italian town hosts annual cheese-rolling race
The annual cheese-rolling race (also known as the ‘Palio dei Caci’) was held in the Tuscan town of Volterra. Eight participants skillfully maneuvered their cheese down an obstacle course while carrying two wooden palettes. The top reward, a whole wheel of cheese, was up for grabs to whoever got to the bottom first. It has to be said, however, that this cheese-rolling didn’t cause nearly as many life-threatening injuries as its more famous British counterpart. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Freedom over censorship, truth over narrative.
