France to keep troops in Sahel despite failing to tackle terrorism
Despite growing fatigue among locals and a number of protests last month, France has insisted it will keep special forces in Burkina Faso to tackle terrorism, even though its eight-year military operation there is officially over. Now, several Western African countries have been looking to form their own collective military force under the so-called Accra Initiative.
