Він залишає свою тиху гавань Житомир, затишний дім, звичне коло людей, Ангеліну і рушає до столиці. Йому обіцяють нові перспективи, постійну роботу викладача Київської консерваторії, більше можливостей, більше визнання. Він піддався на вмовляння доброзичливців, які щиро бажали йому добра: «Твій талант має звучати в столиці». І вын зробив цей фатальний крок і залишив Житомир заради Києва. Він думав, що йде до світла. He left behind his quiet haven of Zhytomyr—his cozy home, his familiar circle of people, and Angelina—to head for the capital. He was promised new prospects, a permanent teaching position at the Kyiv Conservatory, greater opportunities, and wider recognition. He yielded to the urging of well-wishers who sincerely wanted the best for him: "Your talent belongs in the capital." And so, he took that fateful step, leaving Zhytomyr for Kyiv.
