Riots broke out across Sweden over the Easter weekend following a Koran burning by far-right politician Rasmus Paludan, who had promised to hold a series of rallies over the weekend, prompting widespread counterprotests. The counterprotests turned violent, resulting in clashes with police. Three people were injured in Norrkoping, where one of the rallies was due to take place. The protesters were injured by ricochets when police fired warning shots after coming under attack – 16 officers were injured, several police vehicles were set on fire, and 17 people were arrested.
