Indra Jatra procession opens festival season in Nepal

Thousands gathered in Kathmandu as the festival season kicked off with the annual Indra Jatra procession. People came to receive the blessings of the goddess Kumari, a young girl chosen in a series of ancient ceremonies from a clan of the Newar community.
