This paper was presented during the conference on Typography Day 2014 held at the Symbiosis Institute of Design, Pune. Children with low vision are at a disadvantage in reading compared to their peers because of the poor quality of visual input. This paper will examine the various definitions of typeface legibility and the reading problems of low-sighted children. It explores the typographic parameters that can be controlled in order to improve the legibility of typefaces.
