#Stewed #chicken with #Potatoes also known as #korohan #kosher #dinner welcome to #luizasgourmetdelight #lamakes123 Feeds 6-8 #Жаркое из #курицы с #картошкой Ingredients: • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (or what ever cooking oil you prefer) • 1 medium onion, peeled and thinly sliced • 3 garlic cloves, sliced • 1 cup cherry tomatoes (different colors add a nice touch), halved • 2 medium potatoes, cut into eighths • 1 medium turnip, cut into halves or quarters (optional) • 2 lb chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces • 2 tbsp tomato sauce with basil, oregano, and garlic (but you can certainly use flavor of your choice) I freeze leftover tomato sauce once I open up the can and use as needed. • 1/4 tsp turmeric • Salt and pepper, to taste Instructions: 1. Heat the Oil: In a large pot, heat 1/4 cup of oil over medium heat. 2. Sauté Onions: Add the sliced onion to the pot and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. 3. Prepare Other Ingredients: While the onion is cooking, slice the garlic and halve the cherry tomatoes. If you’re using turnips, peel and cut them into halves or quarters. Peel and chop the potatoes into eighths, and cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces. 4. Add Garlic and Tomatoes: Add the garlic and cherry tomatoes to the pot with the onion. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the tomatoes soften slightly. 5. Add Chicken: Place the chicken pieces in the pot, stirring to combine with the sautéed vegetables. Let cook for about 5 minutes. Open lid. Stirring occasionally. 6. Add Potatoes and Turnip: Add the potatoes and turnip (if using) to the pot. Do not stir. 7. Season the Stew: Add 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and turmeric. Stir well. 8. Simmer: Cover the pot and bring the stew to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low. Let it simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the potatoes and chicken are tender and fully cooked. 9. Serve: Adjust seasoning if needed, and serve hot. Enjoy your hearty and flavorful chicken stew! 10. Garnish: Just before serving, sprinkle fresh cilantro leaves on top for a burst of color and flavor. Best served with slightly toasted #leposhka—it’ll be perfect for soaking up all the flavorful broth.
