Весна и ночь покрыли дол, Душа бежит во мрак бессонный, И внятно слышен ей глагол Стихийной жизни, отрешённой. И неземное бытиё Свой разговор ведёт с душою И веет прямо на неё Своею вечною струёю. Но вот заря! Бледнеет тень, Туман волнуется и тает,- И встретить очевидный день Душа с восторгом вылетает. Spring and night have veiled the vale, The soul flies into sleepless dark, And clearly now it hears the tale Of voiceless life beyond all mark. And life unseen, unknown, Now speaks in silence to the soul, And breathes upon it, cold and lone, With its eternal, ageless scroll. But dawn appears! The shadows fade, The mist is stirred and starts to fly — And meet the day, so plainly made, The soul ascends with joyous cry.
