How to plant garlic? Depending on the state you live in, plant garlic after first frost. I live in USA, PA, plant it 3" deep and never had a problem. Garlic will root, but won't sprout. Do NOT use garlic from a grocery store for planting. You can fertilize it after planting and in the beginning of the summer. I do not put too much fertilizer. I'm for organically grown everything, so I will sprinkle ashes during the winter and maybe some goat manure. As you can see in the video without much fertilizing I have good rise garlic. Good luck!
