Execution of the 'Silence' A year after the death of the leader of the band 'Matroskaya Tishina' (Sailor's silence) Herman Dizhechko, new details were revealed about the incident. - Text by Sergei Ermakov On the night of 31st January - 1st February 2008 in Rostov-on-Don the vocalist and creator of the band Matroskaya Tishina, Herman Dizhechko, died. Fifteen years prior he was a legend of the Moscow Rock Labratory (was a soviet rock club). It was Tishina that played the opener at a Sonic Youth concert in 1989. The official cause of Dizhechko's death implies that the drunk musician fell out of the window of a four story house where a party was happening. But almost a year later, details drastically changing the story were revealed. The parents of one of Herman's friends turned out to be workers of the prosecutor's office, and conducted their own independent investigation. On the 31st of January, 2008 after the party, Herman along with a friend were walking another woman friend of his to a routed taxi. The woman drove off, while Herman and his friend were hit by a twenty year old drunk driver while crossing the road. The policemen, in exchange for a promise of forty thousand dollars by the driver, dismembered the bodies and threw the parts across the town, hiding the evidence of the crime. "I'm not surprised. People like Herman can't die such a banal death like falling out of a window while drunk" thinks the drummer of the band, 'Muha' (fly) Anton Yakomuvlskiy who knew Dizhechko.
