Мир бредит фудкортами. Central Market в Лос-Анджелесе, Mercato di San Lorenzo во Флоренции, Chomp Chomp в Сингапуре — эти и подобные площадки уже стали полноценными городскими достопримечательностями наряду с музеями, статуями и соборами. Москва, похоже, решила обскакать другие мегаполисы. «Депо» — это 11 000 кв. метров, 75 различных концепций, бар с двумя большими залами, 140 продуктовых лавок — и речь пока только об одном, пусть и самом крупном здании, а всего их здесь пять. С момента открытия «Депо» немедленно начало ставить и тут же бить собственные рекорды по посещаемости: 75 000, потом 100 000 человек в сутки и, наконец, 300 000 за выходные. И да, не забываем, что само здание — ещё и памятник дореволюционной промышленной архитектуры. «Депо» — бывший Миусский трамвайный, а потом троллейбусный парк, первый в своём роде в Москве. Центральный корпус и вовсе был построен в 1870-е годы (для конки), боковые — в начале ХХ века. У Константина Паустовского есть довольно любопытные зарисовки со времён, когда он переехал в Москву и работал в депо кондуктором. А здешний бар «Туристы» квартирует в помещении бывшего общежития, где у Паустовского была койка. Да и вообще краснокирпичная промышленная архитектура — это всегда интересно и красиво. And yes, do not forget that the building itself is also a monument of pre-revolutionary industrial architecture. "Depo" is the former Miussky tramway and then the trolleybus fleet, the first of its kind in Moscow. The central building was built in the 1870s (for the horse tram), the side ones - at the beginning of the 20th century. Konstantin Paustovsky has some rather interesting sketches from the time when he moved to Moscow and worked as a conductor in the depot. And the local bar "Tourists" lodges in the premises of the former hostel, where Paustovsky had a bed.
